Golden Globes 2021: a second-hand dress and makeup 'home made' (yes you can and Bryce Dallas Howard has proof)
Bryce Dallas Howard is not only a lover of sustainable fashion, but he has shown it tonight during his speech at the 2021 Golden Globes
The 2021 Golden Globes gala may have been the most atypical in memory. With characters like Jodie Foster choosing pajamas as her gala outfit or others like January Jones recovering her dress from ten years ago, it is really difficult to choose the most memorable story of the date.
However, if we talk about responsible looks, one actress in particular has won the award tonight for her personal interpretation of her dress code and her adaptation to the circumstances. Bryce Dallas Howard, daughter of director Ron Howard and star of blockbusters like Jurassic World or El Bosque, wore a sequin bodycon dress with a red gradient perfect for the occasion that, however, hid a very special secret: the actress bought it from through the website The Realreal, specializing in the sale of second-hand luxury clothing. Thus, Howard's dress, designed by Temperley London, was not only one of the most impressive of the night, but also probably one of the most sustainable, as it is a lived dress with a story behind it.
“As many of you know, I love sustainable fashion and often find second-hand pieces for my press events. When I found out I was presenting at the Golden Globes, I immediately turned to my real and true friend, The Realreal! ”, explained the actress on her Instagram.
A gesture that, however, was far from the only responsible decision that the actress starred in tonight. And it is that, beyond the sequined dress, Bryce wanted to accompany her styling with high-heeled shoes by Alexander McQueen that, as she clarified, she bought years ago to promote one of her films; and as a final touch, she finished off the entire process with a makeup and hairstyle that she herself carried out at her house in an attempt to maintain the social distances that the circumstances require. "Regarding hair and makeup, tonight seemed like the perfect occasion to put my own skills to the test," she continued in her post. Although, yes, she had the remote help of her usual makeup artist and hairdresser, who guided the entire process through the screen.
